Protecting Employees’ Rights,
One Case at a Time

Most employment firms you will call this week represent both sides. They sue employers for one client and advise employers on how to avoid being sued for the next. We made a different choice. RMD Employment Law represents employees. Only employees. Never the company.

Our position

Why We Only Represent Employees

One side means no conflicts, and no conflicts means no softened advice. A firm with corporate clients has to think about how those clients will feel about the arguments it makes and the tactics it exposes. We do not. We can tell you plainly what your employer is likely to do, because we spend every day on the other side of companies that do it.

The stakes are lopsided, and being honest about that is the point. You walk in with the one employment case of your life, probably the first time you have ever sued anyone, often while you are out of work. Your employer has a human resources department, an insurance policy, and defense counsel it keeps on retainer. Representing employees exclusively is how we spend our whole practice narrowing that gap instead of playing both sides of it.

The difference

A Firm With Corporate Clients, or a Firm With Only You

Firms That Represent Both Sides

  • ✕ Corporate clients whose feelings shape the argument
  • ✕ Tactics they will not expose because they use them
  • ✕ Advice softened to protect a relationship
  • ✕ Hourly billing that runs whether you win or not

RMD Employment Law

  • ✓ Employees only, so there is no conflict to manage
  • ✓ We tell you exactly what your employer will likely do
  • ✓ No relationship to protect, no reason to soften
  • ✓ Contingency, so our fee depends on your result

How we work

How We Handle Your Case

An Attorney Reviews Every New Client Inquiry

The details of your unique case are reviewed by a lawyer, not a call center or a bot.

We Start to Build an Evidence Plan on Day One

Personnel files, texts, pay records, and witness notes disappear or get cleaned up. We move to preserve them early.

We Prepare Every Case as If It Will Be Tried

Settlement pressure comes from readiness. Employers settle cases they believe will actually reach a jury.

We File Where the Law Requires It

Many claims must go through the California Civil Rights Department, the state agency that handles discrimination complaints, or the Labor Commissioner, the state office that handles unpaid wage claims, before or instead of court. We handle those filings and their deadlines.

Throughout, one commitment holds: we never contact your employer without your permission.

No fee unless we win

What Does No Fee Unless We Win Mean Here?

1

The Consultation Is Free

No charge to tell us what happened and hear whether you have a claim.

2

No Hourly Bills, No Retainer

Nothing comes out of your pocket while the case runs. The firm advances the costs of building it.

3

Our Fee Comes Out of the Recovery

A percentage, paid at the end, out of the result. The exact percentage and cost terms live in a written agreement you sign before any fee exists.

4

No Recovery, No Attorney Fee

If the case does not win, there is no attorney fee.

That holds even when there is no claim to bring. We review severance agreements free of charge, because an employee who was laid off without a claim still needs fast contract help before a signing deadline.

Our roots

Where We Came From

RMD Employment Law is built by the team behind RMD Law, the Irvine based firm that grew a statewide practice representing individuals, not corporations, on contingency. That firm model was simple: take the case, advance the costs, get paid only if the client recovers. We carry the same model into the workplace.

Not sure how this applies to your situation? Talk it through with an employment lawyer. The call is free and confidential.
