Privacy Policy
We recognize that you may be concerned about our use and disclosure of your personal information. Your privacy is very important to us, and the following will inform you of the information that we, RMD Law – Employment Lawyers, may collect from you, and how it is used. By using our website, RMDemploymentlaw.com, you are accepting the practices described in this policy.
Information Collection
We may collect non-personal information, such as a domain name and IP Address. The domain name and IP address reveals nothing personal about you other than the IP address from which you have accessed our site. We may also collect information about the type of Internet browser you are using, operating system, what brought you to our Website, as well as which of our Web pages you have accessed.
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and move through this site. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and receives information including your IP address, the pages you view, the site that sent you here, and your browser and operating system. We use it to see which pages are useful and which are not. We have not turned on the Google Analytics settings that link this information to signed-in Google accounts for advertising purposes. Google processes this information for us under its own terms, which you can read at policies.google.com/privacy.
Additionally, if you communicate with us regarding our Website or our services, we will collect any information that you provide to us in any such communication.
We may contact you via email in the future to tell you about specials, new products or services, or changes to this privacy policy.
Information Use
We use the collected information primarily for our own internal purposes, such as providing, maintaining, evaluating, and improving our services and Website, fulfilling requests for information, and providing customer support.
RMD Law – Employment Lawyers sends text message updates and responses to legal customers about pricing and products offered at RMDemploymentlaw.com.
Mobile phone information is stored securely and will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Mobile phone, email and other contact information is used only for the purposes customers consent to when sharing it with RMD Law – Employment Lawyers.
Security
We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it.
If we collect sensitive information (such as credit card data), that information is encrypted and transmitted to us in a secure way. You can verify this by looking for a closed lock icon at the bottom of your web browser, or looking for “https” at the beginning of the address of the web page.
While we use encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted online, we also protect your information offline. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, billing or customer service) are granted access to personally identifiable information. The computers and servers in which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment.
Cookies
We use “cookies” on this site. A cookie is a piece of data stored on a site visitor’s hard drive to help us improve your access to our site and identify repeat visitors to our site. For instance, when we use a cookie to identify you, you would not have to log in a password more than once, thereby saving time while on our site. Cookies can also enable us to track and target the interests of our users to enhance the experience on our site. We also allow Google Analytics to set cookies for the measurement described in Information Collection above. We do not link cookie information to your name, email address or phone number.
Sharing
We will not sell or otherwise provide the information we collect to outside third parties for the purpose of direct or indirect mass email marketing.
We use outside companies to run this website and to measure how it is used. They receive information only to perform that work for us and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. These include our website host and Google Analytics.
We will disclose personal information and/or an IP address, when required by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to:
- Cooperate with the investigations of purported unlawful activities and conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on our company
- Protect and defend the rights or property of our Website and related properties
- Identify persons who may be violating the law, the rights of third parties, or otherwise misusing our Website or its related properties
Please keep in mind that whenever you voluntarily disclose personal information online, for example through e-mail, discussion boards, or elsewhere, that information can be collected and used by others. In short, if you post personal information online that is accessible to the public, you may receive unsolicited messages from other parties in return.
Ultimately, you are solely responsible for maintaining the secrecy of your personal information. Please be careful and responsible whenever you are online.
Links
This Website may contain links to other sites. Please be aware that we are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of any other site that collects personally identifiable information.
Surveys and Contests
From time to time our site may request information via surveys or contests. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary and you may choose whether or not to participate and therefore disclose this information. Information requested may include contact information (such as name and shipping address), and demographic information (such as zip code, age). Contact information will be used to notify the winners and award prizes. Survey information will be used for purposes of monitoring or improving the use and satisfaction of this site.
Your California Privacy Rights
This section is for California residents. It describes rights given by the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act.
What We Collect
Most of what we hold about you is simply what you chose to tell us when you asked for help.
- Details you give us: your name, phone number and email address.
- What you tell us about your situation: your city, the kind of problem you are having, anything you write in your own words, and any document you choose to upload.
- Technical information collected automatically: your IP address, your browser and operating system, the pages you look at, and the site that sent you here.
An employment problem is hard to describe without saying things California treats as sensitive, for example about your health or a disability, your race, your religion, a pregnancy, or union activity. We do not ask for any of that directly. If you tell us, we use it only to understand your situation and handle your enquiry.
Where It Comes From
Directly from you, by form, phone, text or email. Technical information comes from your browser automatically when you visit the site, and is collected both by us and by Google Analytics, which we use to measure how this site is used.
Why We Use It
- To answer you and work out whether we can help
- To provide legal services if you become a client
- To meet the professional, ethical and legal obligations that apply to a law firm
- To run and protect this website
We Do Not Sell or Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Those are specific things under California law, and we do neither.
How Long We Keep It
We keep what you send us for as long as we need it for the reason you sent it, and for as long as our professional and legal obligations require. Those obligations can require a law firm to keep certain records even after a matter has ended.
Your Rights
- To know what personal information we have collected about you, where it came from, why we collected it, and who we gave it to
- To get a copy of that information
- To ask us to delete it
- To ask us to correct it if it is wrong
- To opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. We do neither, so there is nothing to opt out of
- To limit how we use sensitive personal information
- To be treated no differently because you exercised any of these rights
When you ask what we hold about you, we will look back over the twelve months before your request. If you would like us to go further back, ask, and we will tell you what we are able to do.
How to Make a Request
Use the contact details under Contact Us About Privacy below and tell us what you would like us to do. You can also have an authorised agent make the request for you.
We will ask for enough information to be confident you are who you say you are, because we should not hand your personal information to someone else. We will acknowledge your request within 10 business days and respond within 45 days. If we need longer, we will tell you why, and we may take up to a further 45 days.
If You Contacted Us About a Legal Matter
Anything you send us about a possible claim may also be covered by the rules that govern lawyers, including duties of confidentiality and record keeping. Those rules can limit what we are able to delete. If that affects your request, we will explain why.
California Shine the Light
California Civil Code section 1798.83 lets California residents ask a business whether it shared their personal information with third parties for those third parties’ own direct marketing. We do not share your personal information for that purpose. If that ever changes, we will say so here first.
Terms of Use
Using This Site
By using this website you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
What This Site Is
This site carries general information about California employment law. It is not legal advice, it is not a substitute for advice about your own situation, and the law changes. Nothing here creates a promise about what will happen in your case.
No Attorney-Client Relationship
The use of the Internet or this form for communication with the firm or any individual member of the firm does not establish an attorney-client relationship. Confidential or time-sensitive information should not be sent through this form.
We become your lawyers only when we both agree to it in writing. Until then, please do not send us anything you would not want an outside party to read.
Content on This Site
The text, layout and images on this site belong to RMD Law unless marked otherwise. You are welcome to read, print and share pages for your own use. Please do not republish them as your own.
Links to Other Sites
We link to government agencies, courts and statutes so you can check what we say. We do not control those sites and we are not responsible for what they publish.
No Warranty
We work to keep this site accurate and current, and we date the pages that carry figures which change. Even so, we cannot promise that everything here is complete or up to date at the moment you read it, and you should not rely on it in place of advice.
Limits on Our Liability
We provide this site as it is. To the extent the law allows, RMD Law is not liable for any loss arising from your use of this site or from anything you read here, including any decision you make or any delay in seeking advice.
Nothing in these terms limits any liability that California law does not allow us to limit.

These terms are governed by the law of the State of California. Any dispute about this website or these terms belongs in the state or federal courts serving Orange County, California, and you agree to that venue.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page tells you when we last did.
